Mission Statement

A New Day Cambodia is a non-profit organization providing shelter, food and education to Cambodia's garbage dump scavenger children.

Description

Horrific situation involving hundreds of abused and abandoned children, barefoot and scantily clothed; forced to work daily at the dump, burning rubbish, scarring them mentally or physically, by guardians to support their families; they could not attend school because of the $10/month they make as a scavenger is vital for families survival. Dilapidated shacks, no plumbing, no clean water, no toilets, no electricity, no privacy. The premise behind ANDC is to teach Cambodian young people to be leaders so they can help lift their country up. Children who once had to beg and sift through trash are now getting a shot at having a good, productive life. Our efforts have proven success as some have graduated, received internships at hotels and local businesses and have aspirations of becoming professionals.
