Mission Statement

Joining Hands For Africa (JHFA) is a Non Governmental Organization with a mission set to bridge the gap in health indices between Africans and their demographic counterparts primarily as it pertains to HIV, Tuberculosis and Malarial infections by empowering individuals, communities and states with the adoption of best and novel practices.

Description

JHFA, as one of the novel front liners believes in fighting a problem at its root and has identified three key determinants of the discrepancy in health indices. Low level of education, poverty and infrastructural dearth are directly responsible and programs directed at these determinants will surely bridge the gap. We target vulnerable individuals, families and communities worst hit by these determinants with the aim of: 1) Improving their adult and adolescent literacy/awareness rates 2) Reducing the burden of unaffordable health care cost AND improving their access to quality health care 3) Providing psychological, developmental and medical infrastructure. JHFA was founded in May 2004 by a group of U.S-based African health care professionals.
