Mission Statement

The Tompkins County Public Library Foundation provides financial support and benefits to the Tompkins County Public Library, enhancing opportunities for the library's continued growth and service to the entire community.

Description

The Foundation is an organization separate from the Tompkins County Public Library, non-profit, tax exempt, with its own board of trustees, mission and by-laws. The Tompkins County Public Library Foundation has a mission to generate support for a superior county public library by raising funds for programs and services beyond what is provided for in the county budget and by enlisting the involvement of a broad spectrum of the community. The Tompkins County Public Library and Tompkins County Public Library Foundation work hand in hand to bring new learning and cultural experiences, emerging technology and community services to children and adults in Tompkins County. The Foundation seeks private support through personal requests, grants, corporate gifts, endowment gifts and the annual appeal, then allocates funds to the library.
