Mission Statement

The Arlington Arts Center is dedicated to presenting and supporting the new work of regional artists. Through exhibitions, studio space, and educational opportunities, the AAC serves as a bridge between artists and the public. The goal is to increase awareness, appreciation, perception, and involvement in the visual arts for the public in Arlington County and the area.

Description

The Arlington Arts Center (AAC) is an important component of the vibrant arts scene. The center has been a focal point for the visual arts in the county for nearly three decades. It is recognized regionally as an important laboratory for emerging art and artists, and has served as a point of entry into the arts profession for young artists. The AAC is unique as the only free- standing, non- profit, non- collecting, private arts facility in the area. It provides studio space for developing artists and mounts up to ten exhibitions a year. It sponsors art classes for all ages and offers educational programs such as workshops, gallery tours and lectures for the community at large. Many programs are co- sponsored with the Arlington County Public Schools.
