Bluegrass for Babies was founded in 2009. Cincinnati residents Matt & Anne Schneider were inspired to give back to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center following the life-saving surgery their son Nicholas received when he was two days old. They brought friends, family, and community members together to create a unique and extraordinary organization, Bluegrass for Babies, Inc.

Bluegrass for Babies serves babies, young children and their families through a variety of ways. Currently, our largest initiative is an annual bluegrass festival that benefits Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, ranked among the top three pediatric medical centers in the country by U.S. News and World Report and third in the nation in neonatal care. The festival features live music by well-known bluegrass bands such as Greensky Bluegrass and The Comet Bluegrass All-Stars. In addition, this family-friendly unique event offers organic food, practical and trustworthy information focused on nutrition, organics, recycling, and being "green", as well as children’s activities and a themed basket raffle.
To further promote health, Bluegrass for Babies recently launched a "Healthy Kids" Initiative that provides parents with information and tools about getting kids to eat right and stay active. Over the past year we have hosted activities and demonstrations focused on a variety of topics related to health throughout our community in partnership with organizations such as the Cincinnat Children's Museum, the Junior League, and the City Flea at Washington Park in downtown Cincinnati.
