Mission Statement

Poverty Solutions designs and deploys programs that empower low-income individuals and families to permanently divest poverty. We offer a multi-disciplinary holistic poverty-fighting program - centered on Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship - that serves veterans, at-risk youths, disadvantaged-young adults, unemployed, recently separated veterans, female victims of domestic violence, and others in Los Angeles County and across Southern California.

Poverty Solutions Our One-Stop Empowerment & Economic Opportunity program start with our Financial Education Seminar which is held weekly at our center or at our faith-based partners’ premises. Seminars topics include Education, Banking, Budgeting, Consumer Credit, Debt Management, Insurance, Professional Licenses and Certifications, Savings and Investments, Self-employment, and Job Preparation. During the seminar, participants are informed on, and evaluated for the suitable project of empowerment:

  1. Our GED2College reaches a broad number of students (current as well as those that dropped out), harmonize community resources, support curriculum innovation, and is replicate-able in other underserved communities. GED2College addresses the problem of many young people living in challenging circumstances where their primary needs are not met because of inadequate education/marketable-skills to secure well-paying jobs.
  2. Our Healthy-Path combats childhood obesity by providing health education, nutrition, and physical fitness activities to low-income children 5 to 18 years of age and their families.
  3. Our Veterans-Empowerment services offer a successful transition for low-income and/or homeless veterans by providing emergency and supportive housing, food, health services, occupational skills training and placement assistance, financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, legal aid and case management support.
  4. Our Self-Sufficiency project assist low-income individuals in development of work and life skills essential to self-sufficiency, with a focus on work-entry programs, specific skills training, employment retention and personal financial management training.
