Environmental Studies (a division of the 501(c)(3) non-profit International Academy for Preventive Medicine) was founded in 1989 as a conservation, education and research organization located in the northern Virginia Piedmont. We conduct internationally recognized research with swans and other waterfowl, promote wildlife conservation in the Piedmont region through model conservation projects on our field station, and reach out with our education program to bridge the gap between researcher and the general public.
