Mission Statement

The mission of Queens Pride House is to serve the lesbian , gay , bisexual , and transgender (LGBT) communities of Queens, NY in their full diversity. We are always working to identify the needs of our community and advocate for more comprehensive services to address these needs. Queens Pride House places special emphasis on serving GLBT people of color, recent immigrants, transgendered people, and the disabled. Community building, education, social events, and social and support groups are all part of our everyday activities. We also operate the Queer Links resource and referral hotline, linking LGBT people in Queens to medical, social, mental health, legal, and other resources in Queens and the surrounding area.

Description

We are a community center that seeks to serve the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community of Queens by providing space, resources, programs and services. We were founded in Queensborough Hall in 1997, moved to Woodside and are now located in the heart of Jackson Heights. We have a small paid staff and need volunteers to maintain and grow the center.
