Description

The Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center was established in 1973 and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1976. For the past 31 years, our core emphasis has been the medical, legal, and psychotherapeutic support of sexual assault and abuse survivors. In addition our center offers preventive reenactment therapy for youthful offenders and educational empowerment programs directed toward empowering our community. Our multidisciplinary approach to healing brings therapists, educatore, administrative personnel, volunteer, forensic interviewers, SANE Nurses, representatives from the First Judicial District Attorney's Office, the Santa Fe Police Department, and the New Mexico State Police into one facility in order to better support the needs of the community that we serve. We have recently added support for other traumas to our mission and added two new programs that provide support to families at risk for abuse and to families with newborn infants and newly adopted children. This support includes parenting classes.
