I have been with JLAD for a few years now, and I can tell you that it has been the most amazing experience of my life. I have met the most caring, generous people and have learned a lot about myself in the process. Having the chance to help change someones life by raising a service dog who will make their life better is a priveledge. I love dogs, and being able to combine my love for animals and wanting to help someone will be part of my life for as long as I can be a part of JLAD.

The Joys of Living Assistance Dogs is a unique organization dedicated to helping individuals living with disabilities. In the 8 years I have been volunteering with this organization I have encountered only the highest levelof integrity and competence. It is unfortunate that anyhone who thinks they have a problem with this incredible organization does not have the courage to come forward and state his/her/their specific concerns in a forthright and transparent manner. I know for a fact that JLAD conducts itself with the highest order of ethics and values each and every one of its precious volunteers. Thank you volunteers! Theresa Green

I have volunteered with JLAD for over 5 years and have experienced nothing but dedication, loyalty, and compassion to both its clients and volunteers. I would and do recommend this organization to anyone who is looking to give some time in helping to change the lives of people with disabilities offering a means of independence and better health from the service dogs trained by The Joys of Living Assistance Dogs.

Wow! I have had the exact opposite experience in my 3 years of involvement with this organization. I appreciate the balance of concern and focus between the people and the animals involved in all of the work this group does. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical and emotional challenges. I have personally witnessed this happening. I would recommend this group to anyone who loves dogs and is willing to make sacrifices for the sake of a greater good.

Lack of structure, lack of consideration for volunteers and dogs, organization can't make up it's mind about policies, contracts, procedures, guidelines, etc. Not an enjoyable volunteer experience at all.
