Meals on Wheels- It's More Than a Meal!

Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver meals to homebound older adults, but they deliver so much more. You may be the only smiling face our clients see each day, plus you provide a vital safety check for a very vulerable population.Volunteers 18 years of age and older are needed to deliver meals to homebound older adults in Cumberland County. Meals are delivered Monday-Friday during the hours of 10:30AM-12:30PM. You can be scheduled to deliver everyday or as often as your schedule allows.

Help Older Adults Better Understand Medicare!

Medicare can be very confusing and is constantly changing. Older Adults affected by these changes need someone they can trust to provide accurate unbiased information and counsel. Our organization coordinates the NC Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) for Cumberland County, NC. Volunteers are needed to assist older adults with Medicare-related questions/issues. Training is provided.

Senior Companions serve older adults at risk of losing their independence by building meaningful relationships with those they serve. They primarily provide friendship and socialization; but may also provide some light tasks like cleaning, cooking, errand running, etc. A very rewarding experience; you'll feel a difference in your own life by making a difference in someone else's. Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older.
