Description

The Elder Caregiving Program supports caregivers as they care for their spouses, parents and friends who are 60 years of age or older. Support services help to prevent caregiver burnout and are proven to delay nursing home placement. Services offered: planned and emergency respite services, information and assistance, support services and educational opportunities.

The Kinship Caregiving Program focuses on supporting relatives raising children, primarily grandparents raising grandchildren. Services offered: Information & Assitance, support services, support groups, educational opportunities and empowerment. Currently a volunteer respite service is being trialed in Schenectady County. If successful, the goal is to expand the offering into Albany and Rensselaer counties too.

The staff are friendly, approachable and helpful. They are always ready to roll up their sleeves and help people caring for loved ones. They are a pleasure to work with!
