Mission Statement

The Mission of Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge is to provide a safe haven for neglected, abandoned or abused animals and promote compassionate and humane treatment for all animals.

Description

Established in 2005, Healing Hearts is dedicated to the rescue of abused and neglected domestic companion and farm animals with a primary focus on horses. We provide them with care and compassion at our 54-acre Healing Hearts Animal Refuge in Willcox, Arizona, which is located 60 miles southeast of Tucson. Our administrative offices are located in Gilbert, Arizona. We partner with many valley rescues, including Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and provide low cost spay/neuter services on our Mobile Veterinary Surgical Unit. Furthermore, we also be provide low cost spay/neuter services to rural and lower-income areas.

Domestic companion and farm animals of all kinds; horses, dogs, cats, pigs, goats, sheep and burros find a safe haven at this unique and dedicated animal facility. Working in cooperation with law enforcement and animal welfare agencies, we take in those animals that have been abandoned, abused or neglected. We also work with the community to find solutions for abandoned, neglected and abused animals. Although Healing Hearts is a refuge where animals may live out their natural lives, they also have an opportunity to be adopted into new, loving homes. This allows their places to then be occupied by other animals in need of our help.
