Description

For nearly 38 years, the Friends of Independence National Historical Park - a nonprofit organization -- has worked to ensure that our current and future generations will be inspired to uphold and live by the values set by our Founding Fathers, and to promote the preservation of and education about Independence Park's historical treasures and buildings, legendary leaders, and life changing events that occurred in America's birthplace. The Park spans approximately 45 acres, comprises approximately 20 buildings, features Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, and includes variety of historic treasures that figured prominently in America's struggle for independence and the development of our Nation. With the Friends formation, the organization in partnership with Independence National Historical Park, become a rare and dynamic collaboration between the public and private sectors, and the Friends became a model of park support groups that inspired the development of similar organizations across the Nation.
