Description
GHF maintains a permanent food pantry that provides a twice monthly food distribution. We serve individuals that meet the federal poverty guidelines as well as provide emergency distribution for individuals and families referred to us by the Red Cross and other agencies. Additionally, GHF provides literature concerning nutrition and healthy living.
GHF operates a thrift store and clothing closet. Our clothing closet provides distribution to individuals and families that are referred to us by other agencies. We also provide assistance to families that have special needs as a result of hardship and disaster.
GHF provides referral services for individuals in need of assistance with social security, Medicaid, Medicare, home health and other social service needs. For youth, GHF provides activities and forums which are designed to educate in the areas of the environment, conservation and education. This summer we launched the GHF summer tutorial program for students from Kindergarten through high school.
GHF offers free crocheting and quilting classes at a local senior citizen's community center. Additionally, throughout the year GHF sponsors seminars and workshops that are designed around the needs and interest of various age groups.
