Mission Statement

The mission of the Jonnycake Center of Westerly is to provide a continuum of services in cooperation with other agencies in our service area to assist people through crisis situations & work with each individual to find a path out of dependency toward self-sufficiency.

Description

The Jonnycake Center is a non-profit food pantry, social service agency, and thrift store in Westerly, RI serving the communities of Westerly, Charlestown, Richmond, and Hopkinton. The Thrift Store sells clothes, furniture, books, children's games and toys, electronics and household items. Sales from the Thrift Store help fund social service programs such as emergency financial aid and food pantry operations.

The Jonnycake Center of Westerly has a variety of volunteer opportunities reoccurring and seasonal-something to fit everyone! Volunteers range in age from teenagers to octogenarians and we can accommodate special need requirements. Additionally, we also welcome high school students completing their volunteer graduation requirement and court-ordered community service.

We have over 65 volunteers who donate more than 1000 hours per month in support of Jonnycake programs. We could never provide the extensive support to the Westerly-Chariho community without our dedicated and hardworking volunteers. Help us make a difference!
