United Way of Sumner County

United Way of Sumner County partners with agencies and programs in the community to not only identify, address and support solutions for challenges within our County, but also to work towards prevention of those challenges. As with United Way of America’s new branding and focus, United Way of Sumner County is focusing its efforts on the three building blocks to a better life: Education, Income/Financial Stability, and Health. We conducted a Community Needs Assessment in early 2008 to ensure that we were working to address Sumner County’s top concerns. We also moved to an outcomes-based investment model for funding to ensure our partners were meeting the needs of their clients in the most effective and efficient manner. In 2008, United Way of Sumner County will provide funding to assist 35 agencies offering 39 different programs, with consideration being given to the Needs Assessment results and the results expected by our partners.
