The Fringe's ongoing goal is to help independent artists hone their skills and develop new plays while allowing theatre lovers to enjoy affordable, exciting theatre.
The 2005 Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival will run from July 6 - 17th, presenting 130 different plays spread between 22 venues. Now in its 17th year, it is Toronto's largest and best known theatre festival. Participants in the 2005 Fringe hail from Ontario, across Canada and the USA, and from as far away as England, Scotland, France, Australia and South Africa. The festival gives its artists full artistic liberty to explore their talents onstage, resulting in exciting, independent theatre in a variety of styles including drama, comedy, musicals, dance, improv and more.
