Mission Statement

The Cat Corner is a non-profit, no-kill shelter for domestic cats.

Description

The Cat Corner is a private non-profit organization which operates a no-kill shelter for cats, open since 1981. We provide lifetime care for resident cats who are offered for adoption into suitable homes. Cats are accepted as space in the shelter becomes available. All cats are screened by a veterinarian before being placed in the shelter, and are spayed or neutered, given distemper and rabies shots, tested for FLV and FIV, and receive medical care as needed. We have an adoption program, a foster parent (cat sponsor) program, and maintain a feral cat colony. We are staffed solely by volunteers; there are no paid workers. Donations are tax deductible. We participate in the Paws to Recycle program.

Would you recommend The Cat Corner?

Volunteers at The Cat Corner really care about each and every cat there. They also treat each other like family. Several of the volunteers have been there for more than 5 years and continue to welcome new cat lovers and new kitties alike. There are long-term resident cats to whom we really get attached to and look forward to seeing every week. It is very rewarding to know that you are personally responsible for helping a homeless cat find their new forever home and see how happy they become. I have been volunteering with these precious kitties for over 5 years now and would not trade the experience and happiness for anything.
