Mission Statement
ILDES serves and unites a coalition of organizations in Latin America that are working for social and economic equality through the promotion of ecological and sustainable practices. We do this through education, consultancy, networking, and capacity-building. We envision the transformation of Latin America to local, autonomous bioregions based on cooperation and the paradigm of working with rather than against nature.
Description
ILDES was established in 2002 by a coalition of organizations and institutions from countries around the world. We help existing and future conservation projects that are restoring the land, and teach courses on Permaculture, forest gardening, renewable energy and ecological building techniques, etc. The website of ILDES (www.ildes.org) is intended to be an information resource for organizations working for our environmental cause in Latin America.
The ILDES headquarters are located at the Sirius Community (an ecovillage near Amherst, MA)
