Mission Statement

Every year, more than 6,000 teenagers die in motor vehicle crashes. As a part of the Trauma Department at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, TeenSafe is able to identify local trends in teen crash factors and develop prevention programs to address them. Numerous distractions (speeding, texting, seatbelt use, friends, drug/alcohol) contribute to crashes. The top three factors involved in teen crashes are 1) cell phone use, 2) alcohol/drug impairment, and 3) no seatbelt. All of our programs address these concerns.

Description

TeenSafe is an injury prevention program dedicated to promoting education, responsibility and empowerment concerning traffic safety and alcohol awareness. We educate children, preteens, teens, parents, caregivers, schools, organizations and communities.
