Mission Statement

Harpseals.org seeks to bring about a permanent end to the massacres of harp seals in Canada. We are utilizing mass media and grassroots activism to raise awareness about the continued killing of the seals in Canada and are promoting a boycott of Canadian seafood to pressure the sealers (who are fishermen) to call for an end to the killing. Sealers have killed over 1 million seals, mostly babies, in the past 3 years--the largest slaughter of marine mammals in the world. Hundreds of thousands of seals are skinned alive. We have the power to stop this with a concerted campaign this year.

Harpseals.org is an all-volunteer organization with headquarters in Santa Monica, CA but with volunteers all over the country and in many countries around the world. We are the only organization with the single mission of ending the harp seal massacres in Canada. Our focus enables us to be very effective and very efficient. Join us today!
