Mission Statement

Our mission is to inspire lifelong interest and learning in science, technology, engineering and math. We believe learning is fun and expands minds and lives. Because of the opportunities we provide, our community is more scientifically literate, curious and empowered to explore.

Description

We are growing our regular floor volunteer team and we are looking for enthusiastic learners, educators, and all those interested in continuing to learn about science, technology, engineering and math.We are looking for volunteers interested in helping six to twelve hours a month on a regular day and time that fits your schedule.

Volunteers at the Discovery Center of Idaho:

  • Encourage: diversity and inclusion
  • Represent: Discovery Center of Idaho and our mission both in and beyond our galleries
  • Grow: in their personal STEM knowledge and encourage growth of STEM understanding in the community.

They are teachers, stay-at-home parents, students, retired engineers and more. You don’t have to be an expert to be a volunteer-if you are passionate about STEM, and love talking with and helping others, we’d love to have you.

I love volunteering here because the Volunteer Coordinator is such a friendly and flexible person to work with and she really cares about the people in the volunteer program. I am always learning something new and I enjoy engaging visitors with their STEM related exhibits. It's great to share my passion for learning with our community.
