The VMC Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID 77-0187890) that raises donations from the community on behalf of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (VMC) and the entire Santa Clara Valley Health & Hospital System. The Foundation seeks these funds for programs that support community well-being, improve the quality of care, and promote access to medical treatment for all residents of Santa Clara County.
Since 1988, the VMC Foundation has been "Helping Silicon Valley Care" by serving as the fundraising arm of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and the Santa Clara Valley Health & Hospital System (SCVHHS). In an effort to bridge the widening gap between public revenues and growing expenses to provide healthcare to the county’s working poor and unemployed and their children, we rely on the donations of a generous community to provide essential services and the finest care.
The VMC Foundation has committed itself to raising funds to both fill existing gaps for inpatient and outpatient services, and to improve the health and quality of life for residents acrossSanta ClaraCounty. Some community programs supported by the foundation include: Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic - providing free health-related legal service to pediatric patients; Patient Technology Access Program - a rehabilitation approach that utilizes adaptive technologies to build patients’ skills and education levels; Reach Out and Read - an innovative national program operating in ten local community clinics which teaches healthcare workers to incorporate literacy promotion as a standard part of pediatric primary care; the Cypress Maternal Outreach Van - putting state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and staff on the road, providing ultrasound screening for pregnant women all across the county; and Cambie Su Vida - an innovative program of our Pediatric Healthy Lifestyle Center to battle the epidemic of childhood obesity among low-income children in Santa Clara County.
