Mission Statement

Promoting quality care and compassion for domestic animals in the upper Snake River valley and building a state-of-the-art facility giving homeless animals a longer chance to be adopted.

Description

THE CONCERN: On average, nearly 100 dogs and cats are euthanized each week in the Upper Snake River Valley. Most of these animals are healthy and adoptable. The adoptable animals are euthanized simply because there is not enough room in the local city-run shelters to house them long enough to find a home.

The SOLUTION: The Snake River Animal Shelter (SRAS) is committed to drastically reducing that number and to promoting quality care and compassion for domestic animals. SRAS is pursuing three paths to achieve this mission:

1.Providing strong education, spay/neuter, and adoption programs to help decrease the number of unwanted animals 2.Building and operating a larger and more pet-friendly shelter facility allowing animals more time to be adopted 3.Supporting pet owners by providing a variety of pet services and operating a community dog park.
