"Through commitment, teamwork, and integrity, Color Country Community Housing is dedicated to elevating the quality of life for individuals and families by creating financial independence, fostering community partnership, promoting energy efficiency, supporting individuals and families, and improving access to attainable housing."
Color Country Community Housing, Inc. (CCCHI) was founded by area leaders to address the affordable housing needs of Southwestern Utah. CCCHI was granted non-profit 501 (c) (3) status by the I.R.S. on December 7, 1998 and exactly one year later, on December 7, 1999; Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) status was granted to CCCHI by H.U.D. and the State of Utah.
CCCHI has a diversified focus utilizing several affordable housing disciplines. Programs include: single-family homes, lease to own homes, and multi-family apartments making use of new construction and acquisition/rehabilitation. CCCHI also partners with the USDA Rural Development Agency on a program called Mutual Self Help (MSH) which unites groups of 5-10 families to work together in building each others homes. CCCHI provides technical assistance and training to the families, USDA provides low-interest construction and permanent loans and the families provide 65% of the labor needed to complete their own home and homes of their neighbors.
Our affordable housing programs are targeted to meet the needs of the very-low, low-, and moderate income community, with most programs targeted towards those with income below 80% of the area median income (AMI); this includes unit set-asides for special needs such as the elderly, disabled, and transitional housing for victims of domestic violence.
During our fourteen years of operation, CCCHI has completed nearly 600 units of affordable housing: which includes single-family, multi-family, down payment assistance, and rehabilitation assistance providing safe and secure housing to over 2400 individuals.
