Not only was I able to connect with people on the phone about their loved ones, but my family created a team to walk in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s". -Jamie Coulter (2021, Syracuse Walk Planning Committee Volunteer) Email: cny-walk@alz.org Phone: (315) 612-2720

This is a TEMPORARY VIRTUAL OPPORTUNITY, you must be local when we go back to in-person meetings! The Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter is seeking volunteers to facilitate a monthly support group in the Oswego County community. An Alzheimer's Association support group is an open gathering of people with common problems, needs and interests who come together to share their feelings, thought and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia in a safe environment. The support group facilitator allows the group process to take its course, allowing the group members to benefit from each other's wisdom. Volunteers are provided initial and ongoing training by Alzheimer's Association, as well as materials and reference information on the disease and chapter resources. If you think this is the role for you, please contact us for more information.
