Our mission at Lakeside Community Committee is to provide a full spectrum of foster, social and community services that will:
Facilitate quality foster care for needy children
Reunite biological parents and their children
Promote the healthy and positive growth of children, young adults and senior citizens
Strengthen the social and economic base of the community
Lakeside Community Committee was founded as a grassroot organization in 1964. Lakeside Community Committee is contracted by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to provide foster care, kinship care, transitional living and independent living services to abused and neglected children and youth who can no longer be safely maintained in their birth parent's home as well as supportive services for at-risk elementary and hgh school students. Lakeside Community Committee also provides a myriad of social services to individuals aged 17-24 that are transitioning back into the community from the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice and/or the Illinois Department of Corrections. These community based services include family support, social and life skills development.
