Mission Statement

The mission of The Center for Courageous Kids is to uplift children who have life-threatening illnesses by creating experiences year-round that are memorable, exciting, fun, build self-esteem, are physically safe and medically sound.

Description

We are a medical camping facility for children with various chronic illnesses, like cancer, kidney disease, heart disease, spina bifida, and others. We serve children between the ages of 7-15 for week long sessions during the summer and their entire family for weekends during the fall and winter months, operating year round, all at NO COST to the ill child or family. We are medically equipped to continue treatment of their illness, such as chemotherapy, dialysis, etc. while they have the time of their young lives swimming, horseback riding, bowling, climbing the climbing wall, and just being kids. We rely solely on donations from individuals and businesses with a heart for ill children. Our camp location address is 1501 Burnley Road, Scottsville, KY. 42164

This organization is AMAZING! It is run by very professional full time crew and they treat their volunteers with respect. As a volunteer I always feel like I have good backup through the excellent staff. The facilities are brand new and absolutely beautiful. There are so many things to do here, and the children and families walk away with a beautiful experience in the midst of a tragic medical event in their lives. I'll be volunteering on a regular basis, I'm sure!
