Description

Northgate Early Learning Center (formerly Northgate Preschool) is owned by the Indonesian Full Gospel Fellowship in North Seattle, Washington. Our licensed program provides all-day care and education to 35 young children from 4 weeks to 5 years old. We are a member of the Seattle Early Education Cooperative and actively engaged with Early Achievers, the new rating system for child care care centers.

Some distinctive characteristics of our center:

* 60% of our families are people of color and/or multi-cultural marriages.

* We have an inclusive enrollment and hiring policy which extends to families and employees who are of non-Christian faiths, gay families, and other non-mainstream groups and individuals.

* 99% of our staff are immigrants to the United States and speak one or more languages besides English.

* We have a strong parent involvement program evidenced by: volunteering, donations, work parties, committee work, fundraisers and a parent advisory board.

* We use a research-based curriculum in each clssroom and conduct developmental assessments on every child.

* Parents like our teachers' emphasis on strong, loving relationships with the children.
