This rewarding volunteer opportunity will allow you to help an organization with a cause. Organize activities to raise funds or otherwise solicit and gather monetary donations or other gifts for an organization. May also raise awareness of the organization's work, goals, and financial needs. You will assist with seeking sponsors, venues and developing a variety of packages. We need those who will work work well independently, be a quick and be a out of the box thinker. This position requires a person who is outgoing and possesses the social and communicative skills to promote the mission of the nonprofit among the local community. Other duties would be to assist in organizing fundraising events, recruit volunteers, or arrange other projects to get the community excited about and invested in the organization. Correspondence via email and batch mailing; some phone calls, and daily data entry. If you have this experience and would like to apply to perform your skillset to assist our organization, please apply on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10am-12noon. The application process includes an Orientation, Video, and Interview which will last approx. 2 hours, on these two days only. As a Volunteer Logistics Assistant you will be soliciting for event donations via email. Will also be responsible for soliciting gift cards and product donations for annual events from local companies via email. You will also be doing data entry handling phones to compile and record donor information. 2 positions are available for 4 hours a day. Types of event tickets - We often would get tickets donated to all events coming to Fresno. These events come to the Save Mart Center, Convention Center, and the Fairgrounds. The events are usually events such as Harlem Globetrotter, Disney on Ice, Monster Jam Truck, Barnum & Bailey Circus, American Idol in Concert, Etc. etc., etc... We utilized these tickets 1 st to give to our students and volunteers and then to sell as a fundraiser. Even if the event is not kid-friendly we still want to request tickets. These tickets can be offered to the public as a fundraiser. If you have this experience and would like to apply to perform your skillset to assist our organization, you will need to attend our 2 hour orientation interview. Applications will be taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am. Applicants must be available for 2 hours when turning in the application, for orientation and interview on the same day. Adult applicants will also be required to undergo fingerprints the same day (off-site) which is $30 for self-volunteers.(Minors will not have to undergo a background check).

We need Tutor/ Mentors for Kindergarten through 12th grade. We tutor both Math and English. We are looking for individuals that are familiar with the Common Core curriculum. Boys2Men Girls2Women After School Tutoring Program runs daily Tuesday thru Friday 3pm to 5pm. Volunteer Staff are scheduled to work 2pm to 5:30pm so that they can assist with daily set up and lesson prep for students, then tear down and clean up, while waiting for parents to pick up students, before signing out at 5:30pm. The Tutoring Program itinerary consists of fragmented time for: homework, or tutoring exercises. A student lunch is accompanied such as the basics like reading and math with a group activity. A half hour of reading takes place while the tutor listens as the student reads. Scheduled Guest Speakers will come in twice a week and present on positive image, and character-building topics. At 5pm the tutoring session ends and parents begin to pick children up. If you have this experience and would like to apply to perform your skillset to assist our organization, you will need to attend our 2 hour orientation interview. Seeking volunteers to assist with preparing and serving meals. Set-up dining room as well as cleaning up. Our organization is in need of food server-kitchen volunteer staff for our daily After School Tutoring Program. The program is held Tuesday thru Friday each week, 3-5, however our kitchen staff hours will be 2pm-5pm, in order to clean kitchen if needed, and prepare food bar, needs list for next day and all other of the following duties as needed. Duties and Responsibilities of Kitchen-Food Server They perform all the tasks in the kitchen as well as serving food to student participants during the daily After School Tutoring Program They are the ones responsible for the hygiene of the kitchen and they have to clean so the kitchen remains clean before the surprise inspections They will take the temperature of the hot food that will be delivered daily, and record temperature upon delivery and then again upon time to serve in the daily meal program They have to remove the required ingredients from the pantry and have to display side dishes in advance They have to keep a daily record of number of meals served in the first round, any second meals, and totals They have to store excess food away in the refrigerator, after the meal has been served They have to report to the Project Coordinator for After School Program and communicate any concerns or issues, paper good needs (plates, forks, cups, napkins, foil, plastic bags, dish soap, etc). They have to train any new members of the kitchen staff regarding the work culture of the kitchen They have to clean all the equipment that is used in the kitchen They must work together with maintenance staff to make sure that trash is disposed of and spills are mopped up. May be extended throughout our other programs as well throughout our organization. The kitchen volunteer staff is handed responsibilities by the Project Coordinator and Executive Director. They have to report to these two authorities in the kitchen. They have take up whatever job is given to them. Many times, there are shortages of other staff like servers so the kitchen staff have fill in for the absentees. Orientation and Interviews are on Tuesday and Thursdays so expect to stay for 2 hours when applying 12noon-2pm.
