Description

Embassy Academy is located in Little Rock, Arkansas and is situated in the inner city on 16 acres.

Embassy Academy provides educational and training services to a veried demographic. Our student enrollment consists of children who live in the immediate area of the school and those families who commute from a radius of over 30 miles. Started in 1989 as Word of Outreach Christian Academy, Embassy Academy is a new name which reflects the aim of the school’s mission and vision statements. Our history is rich with over 23 years of training, educating, evangelizing and housing God’s heritage. We believe that all children should have a Christ-centered education in an enriched, safe, creative, and disciplined environment. As a result, inability to pay does not hinder a child’s admission to our academy. Some of the children we serve come from families who are not able to pay full tuition. Some families are not able to pay any tuition costs.

Educational Philosophy of Embassy Academy

Embassy Academy bases its understanding and focus of education on the Word of God. As a part of this focus, we utilize the Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary definition of education. It is:

EDUCA’TION, n. [L. education.] The bringing up, as of a child, instruction; formation of manners. Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.

The guiding functional concept for education at Embassy Academy is 'the three-legged stool’ concept which consists of the home, the local church, and the school. As the education of a child begins at home, the parent or guardian is under divine mandate to ensure that their child is appropriately and fully educated. The local church and school facilitate the child’s education as part of the training that the child receives in the home. If any part of this education 'stool’ is missing or lacking, the child will not be fully or successfully educated. In short, if the responsible parent or guardian does not select a Christ-centered environment to facilitate their child’s education, the parent cannot and should not expect that their child(-ren) will be fully educated, trained, and made ready for the world system with which they will be faced. Regrettably, the child will lack the ability to comprehensively think, discern, reason, and resolve.

Knowing this, Embassy Academy endeavors to impact the lives of its students and their families through a comprehensive classical education method which is predicated on the precepts of God, the partnership of the parent/guardian with the school, the leadership and staff’s reliance on daily prayer with faith, and the strict adherence to a structured, creative, and disciplined environment.
