Emerging Leaders Council Member Guidelines OUR MISSION: The Emerging Leaders Council (ELC) is a group of young professionals desiring to support the mission of Make-A-Wish San Diego through volunteering, professional networking, community awareness, and fundraising opportunities. We are building genuine relationships with like-minded professionals in our mission to support our local community - granting the wish of every eligible child.  OUR PURPOSE: We are a membership organization looking to grow by inspiring other young professionals in the Greater San Diego area.  Being a member of the ELC goes beyond harnessing personal qualifications and professional skills outside of our daily jobs. It allows our members to make an impact in the local community while being part of many life-changing moments with Make-A-Wish.  Join us and meet other like-minded individuals who are also passionate about networking for philanthropic purposes, and we also like to have fun! We organize and get together for activities such as happy hour mixers, hikes, special events, MAW volunteering opportunities, and more.  The Young Professional Board’s purpose is to positively promote Make-A-Wish San Diego philanthropy through personal giving, event-based fundraising and volunteering to help fulfill the mission. The Young Professional Board has no governing, legal, or fiduciary authority with respect to Make-A-Wish. As a member of the Young Professional Board, your responsibilities include participation in Young Professional Board and committee meetings, fundraising, recruiting future Young Professional Board members and supporters and promoting and advocating the mission of Make-A-Wish. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 3-years business experience (or relevant professional/postgraduate experience). Demonstrated commitment to philanthropy through volunteering, fundraising, and personal giving.
