Mission Statement

The mission of Community Housing Development Corporation is to provide permanent and affordable housing and eliminate blighted conditions and develop housing for residents of North Richmond while attracting residents from outside the area who would benefit from owning or renting quality afffordable housing.

Description

CHDC was incorporated as a community-based nonprofit in 1990. CHDC emerged from Housing Development Committee of the Neighborhood House of North Richmond, where there were growing concerns about the lack of good quality affordable housing. The CC - MATCH (Moving Assets Toward Community Hands) Program is an initiative of CHDC focused on Asset Building programs for individuals and families. CC - MATCH provides financial education, credit counseling, and matched savings programs.
