Whether I am walking dogs, participating in off-site events or helping new volunteers, I am proud to say that I am a part of AAWL. Volunteering with AAWL has been the most rewarding thing I have done for myself. The satisfaction of helping animals, helping new volunteers and the friends that I have made continually amazes me. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a volunteer mentor program to get new volunteers up to speed, feeling confident and welcome. Volunteering at AAWL has been more fun and rewarding than I ever expected! I highly recommend AAWL to anyone who has a love for animals and a desire to help the animal rescue community. Go ahead, make the call and start on your volunteer adventure with AAWL today. You will be glad you did, I know I was !

AAWL is one of the most diverse organizations out there. There is something for everyone. Some examples: walking dogs, caring for cats, helping to teach at the children's camps, working with e exotic rescue animals, clerical assistance, front desk assistance, community outreach, events, hikes with the shelter dogs to get them out, taking dogs home for a night or two or taking dogs home to allow them a home environment until they are adopted, working in the Clinic or Infirmary. I could go on and on but as you see the possibilities for options are almost endless. We need your help and assistance to become part of the incredible Volunteer Team we have at AAWL. Every hour you volunteer makes a difference in the life of an animal or a person or both!!!!!! COME JOIN THE TEAM!!!!

Volunteering to help exercise and socialize animals is such a fun and rewarding experience. The animals are always so happy to see you. AAWL has a wonderful and caring staff that finds homes for thousands of animals every year, and being a small part of that mission is awesome. The best part is growing attached to a dog or cat and then seeing that animal get adopted by a nice family...knowing you contributed, in small part, to that animal's rescue and rehabilitation. And now they have a place to call home.

If you love animals and want to help save them, this is the place for you! This team of dedicated people are great to work with. You can help with dogs, cats or critters like lizards and turtles. Only have a few hours a week to help? That's ok! They will train you and support you every time you come in. You can volunteer at the main shelter or one of the many off site locations, like the Chandler Mall. Come join the team in the cattery and play with the kittens or join us for an organized hike with the dogs. Love doing laundry?! We have plenty of that too. ;) There is something for everyone that loves animals.

The AAWL & SPCA is a great organization. As a volunteer, you can learn a lot and meet some terrific people! The paid staff is always friendly and make you feel appreciated. There's always room for another volunteer here and there are lots of different types of work to be done. I do mostly clerical and event work while my husband helps out directly with the animals.
