Mission Statement

This U.S. Civil Air Patrol is the official civilian auxiliary of the Unites State Air Force. Our group of 50,000 volunteers nationwide has been performing missions for America since World War II. Today, the CAP boasts the largest fleet of single engine aircraft in the world, as it performs its 3 key role, Emergency Services, Aerospace Education and Cadet Programs.

Description

Long Island Group is part of the New York Wing of the Civil Air patrol. There are a total of 7 squadrons in the group, based at various locations in Nassau and Suffolk. Our primary base of operations is at Islip/MacArthur airport where our aircraft are located. the 500 members of Long Island Group perform many missions, including Search and Rescue, Airborne Photo Recon, Disaster relief and recovery as well as promoting Aerospace to our youth programs.
