Description

Garvey School is a Nursery through 8th grade non-public school located in the Northeast Bronx. Some years ago when I could not afford the appropriate school environment for my daughter, and the ones available did not seem equal to the task of creating positive beginning learning experiences for her, I took the challenge of homeschooling. She thrived well, and other parents noticed and inquired. I shared my experiences and decision with them. They asked me to allow their children to join mine. So, Garvey School was born in my living room off East 233rd Street. Over the last 10 years our students have excelled without the convenience of many resources, and have transitioned well into talented and gifted programs and exclusive independent schools. As we grow, however, we need more resources so we can continue to provide quality education that is accessible in this community.
