Mission Statement

The mission of TEAMSurvivor Madison is to provide women cancer survivors a variety of fitness activities, education, and support while taking an active role in our physical and emotional well-being.

Description

"Together, women with cancer achieving the extraordinary"

Founded in 2002 TEAMSurvivor Madison, Inc. provides fitness activities and events for women surviving any cancer diagnosis. The all volunteer, member driven, and member led organization provides free or low cost fitness activities and health education programs for women with a past or present diagnosis of cancer. The fun and supportive programs offer women the opportunity to reclaim their fitness, gain a sense of accomplishment, build a social support system and achieve renewed comfort with their bodies and their health. Members participate in programs ranging from walking/hiking and paddling to dragon boating and training for a sprint distance triathlon.

The grassroots organization draws members from Dane and surrounding counties, and virtual members from around the State of Wisconsin and beyond. Annual fund raisers include the Capital Lakes DragonFest in June and the Chocolate Chase Bicycle Ride the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

TEAMSurvivor Madison, Inc. is organized as a not-for-profit (501) (c) (3) corporation and is an affiliate of the National Association of Team Survivor.
