Mission Statement

Young Urban Modern Chefs offers cooking programs for children from all socio-economic backgrounds. Located in the Mission District of San Francisco and led by Chef Leah Brooks, YUM Chefs is a project of Open Mind, a non profit dedicated to the development and education of children.

Classes range from everyday approachable recipes to DIY projects. We are committed to making the child's cooking experience fun, engaging, and delicious! During our cooking classes we focus on nutrition and sustainability, two subjects we are very passionate about. We even have an organic garden adjacent to the kitchen, so we grow some of the food we cook!
