Mission Statement
The Santa Fe Concert Band is one of Santa Fe, New Mexico's oldest traditions: free public concerts by volunteer musicians; to provid park concerts during the summer months, to participate in national holiday and municipal celebrations (Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc.), and to hold a holiday concert in December.
Description
The Santa Fe Concert Band is an all volunteer organization . The members play out of a love for music, a desire to play, and to enjoy the company of other folks with similar interests.
The Board of Directors is made up of elected volunteers who serve by a vote of the band members.
The band rehearses once a week and is open to musicians of all abilities. There are no auditions; each erson is expected to judge his/her own skills and choose parts suited to those skills.
Members provide their own instruments and music stands. The band's only posessions are its music and a few percussion instruments.
The band is a 5019(c)(3) organization and is incorporated as a New Mexico non-profit.
