Mission Statement

The mission of the Adopt-A-Block program is to minimize the amount of pollution created by waste in our community. Through public education about the proper disposal of wastes and recyclables, and the removal of graffiti and trash, we work to maintain a litter-free Isla Vista with the help of our volunteers.

Description

Our program is powered by the many volunteers and community service groups who spend time removing trash from the streets before it ends up in our storm drains and oceans. How often you decide to volunteer is up to you--all you have to do is come by our office and we will set you up with the supplies and the opportunity for you. You can just come in for a couple of hours when you're in the mood; you can sign up to become one of our valued weekly "Adopt-A-Blockers"; you can schedule a private weekend clean-up event for your group, or you can come to one of our scheduled monthly clean-ups to participate in the community-building, clean-IV fun!
