Mission Statement

Our mission is to reach out to grandparents and kinship caregivers in the Forsyth County area who are currently raising their grandchildren or another member of their family.

Description

The Grandparenting Program and Family Resource Center of Winston Salem State University is designed to reach out to grandparents and kinship caregivers who are currently raising a member of their family. Families that we work with live in Forsyth county and the youth that we work with range in age from pre-k to high school. Our main goal is to facilitate the academic readiness of the children in our program. We work with the entire family unit and address issues that they might face including (but not limited to) health and social factors. This program is ideal for volunteers wishing to gain more experience in the fields of nursing, education, and/or social work.
