Description

One-on-one mentoring program for teens and young adults with TBI, SCI or other disability who are interested in going to college or getting a job. The program is structured to support 30 mentoring matches per year for the next 5 years. The focus is to connect participants with appropriate community resources and the support they need to be successful. Ideally, successful mentoring relationships will last about 1-2 years or until the participant accomplishes their educational or career goals. Mentors are individuals who have life experience working or going to college successfully, and have had personal experience with TBI, SCI or other disability. As part of the program a vocational rehabilitation counselor and rehabilitation psychologist are available for any needed extra support. The program is free to all participants and mentors will be compensated with a $100 per month stipend.
