Description

The Fitzgerald Theater is MPR’s largest performance hall and broadcast studio and, like The Current, has had a distinct and significant impact on the cultural landscape of Minnesota. Annually this theater, over 100 years old and on the National Register of Historic Places, hosts an ever widening array of events with local, regional, and national actors, musicians, artists, political figures, journalists, authors, writers, and poets, for audiences of all ages. It is a cultural landmark in Saint Paul that has influenced the city’s economic growth and its reputation as a thriving artistic center. Over 45,000 people visit the Fitzgerald Theater each year to partake of its diverse programming. Its range of content, and its reputation, is growing well beyond the resonance of "A Prairie Home Companion," and its capacity for offering a broad spectrum of programming and a combination of live, broadcast, and digital performances to audiences is steadily increasing. The Fitzgerald Theater is home to some of Minnesota’s most talented event producers and theater crews.
