Mission Statement

The Asian Festival strives to introduce Asian Cultures to the North Texas population as a part of the celebration of May as Asian American Heritage Month. The festival also promotes unity within various Asian American communities.

Description

The first Asian Festival was held fifteen years ago. Originally the Festival was initiated by the Dallas Parks & Recreation Department as a small neighborhood program to introduce city services to the newly arrived Asian immigrants and refugees. From a small gathering in Exall Park, the Asian Festival has transformed into a multicultural program led by the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce. It is now the largest cultural event at the Annette Strauss Artist Square, attracting more than 15,000 attendees in 2004.
