Mission Statement

EHC LifeBuilders confronts homelessness by cultivating people’s potential to get housed and stay housed.

Description

EHC LifeBuilders envisions a community where everyone has a home.

EHC LifeBuilders is about more than just shelter. Through award winning housing programs and effective support services, EHC LifeBuilders champions quality of life in our community and stability for people in need by providing housing, hope, and opportunity.

We are life builders.

The Veterans Service Center is a One-Stop Center and outreach program dedicated to providing referral assistance to homeless veterans in our community. The Veteran Center seeks to provide a safe haven for veterans seeking access to community support support services and stable housing. By providing an environment that is safe and veteran friendly, the EHC Veteran Center hops to create a foundation for a "Veterans helping Veterans" support system that is self-sustainable and inclusive. In conjunction with community social service agencies, Veteran Administration of Palo Alto and other Bay Area veteran centers, we hope to offer accessible services for the homeless veteran population throughout the county.

The Veterans center provides homeless and at-risk vets in Santa Clara County with workshops and drop-in assistance to build community, manage mental and physical health issues, and achieve overall stability. Services include counseling, health care, employment assistance, and connection to mainstream benefits. On-site access to these services allows EHC staff to assist clients with various needs at one central location.

The Veteran Center is located in the Boccardo Regional Reception Center (BRC) and is open Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. While at the center, veterans are able to work one-on-one with a case manager to address their housing, employment, and benefit needs. Workshops are available to improve on skills related to living, communication, money management, and employment.

Services available at the Service Center Include:

  • On-site VA Doctor Services
  • Showers/Laundry
  • Life skills workshops

  • Veteran compensation disability & pension services
