Mission Statement

The Armed Forces Service Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving "active duty" military personnel, dependents, Reservists and the National Guard (on orders), as they travel through the Mpls./ St.Paul Intl. Airport. The AFSC accomplishes this mission by providing complementary food, shelter and any other assistance that is needed.

The Armed Forces Service Center is open 24/7 and is located at the MSP Airport. Volunteers work in four hour shifts to make sure our doors are always open. The Executive Director over sees the day-to-day operations of the AFSC. And, we are governed by a Board of Directors. The center has a comfortable main lounge, a color tv, fax machine, two computers with internet service, a kitchenette, bathroom and seperate sleeping bunks for men and women.

Would you recommend Armed Forces Service Center?

Your placard outside said "Active Duty only, their families and GS employees." It did not include retirees. Additionally the sign outside said that support is received by Veteran Groups. I spoke to someone who said, "This is not like the USO." I am a Retired VETERAN who served voluntarily in two wars (if you count NAM) and have been retired for 15 years! Never in my life will I recommend a Org which doesn't support everyone who is / was a Veteran!
