Why Listen?

A Gatewave radio or internet service gives you access to the daily reading of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and other daily newspapers as well as a host of magazines and occasionally, books. We also provide programs specifically for those with visual impairments and other disabilities. Our readings are produced by trained spoken word artists.

Gatewave is an internet/radio reading service providing access to publications for blind and disabled listeners. With offices at Helen Keller Services in Brooklyn, NY, its content is heard over special radios in the New York City area, heard over internet streams, mobile apps, a telephone service for the blind, and rebroadcast by affiliated reading services in New Jersey, the South, and the Midwest.

Gatewave's programs are broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Gatewave is a non-profit 501(C)(3) charitable organization dedicated to providing alternatives to reading for those who are visually or physically disabled.
