Description

Our agency provides comprehensive early childhood education and family support services within Kittitas County, Washington. Established in 1967, our program has grown from serving 18 Head Start students to providing not only Head Start but also Early Head Start and Early Support Services for Infants/Toddlers with special needs/disabilities (ESIT). Today our services include clients beginning prenatal (pregnant women) through age five. Clients must meet specific criteria to qualify for our programs, all of wihch are provided free of charge. The majority of our clients qualify because their annual income is at or below 100 percent of the federal proverty line. Others receive services because they have special health care needs or a disability. Approximately 250 women and children receive our services each year. We offer both home-based visiting services as well as classroom center-based services for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. In addition, families receive support from family service support workers and are invited to participate and plan in events and the day-to-day operations of our program.
