2K4kids was started in 2007 after the tragic death of Kari Parker and her infant daughter Keira Lyn. Kari was a teacher in the Temecula Valley and surrounding cities. She was married to Matt Parker a Health teacher and Baseball coach at Fallbrook High School. Matt and Kari's parents started this Foundation because of Kari's love of education.
The specific purpose is to help students with Financial obligations, defray costs, and to assist monetarily to those attending an accredited college or university.
The students chosen by the Foundation have to be good students however not the top per cent of the class, and not necessarily on a financial need basis. The students must be active in and have given back to their communities.
2K4Kids also helps with programs within the Elementary and middle schools. Grants are also given to teachers to help offset the amount of personal money they must spend on their classroms.
2K4Kids raises its money through private donations and annual Fundraisng events throughout the year. We are coming up on our largest fundraising event of the year. The Gala/ Silent and live Auction. This is a formal dinner for friends , family and contributors to the foundation.
It is held yearly at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula. The date is August 3rd 2012. We also do a walk /run in the spring. This year we are going to have more events for the public to be involved
